Androids and Robots

  • Kawalski: Mid-level Earth robotics manufacturer.
  • Fanukawa: State-of-the-art Kyrios Kosmos robotics manufacturer. They have established a reputation for creating tech, nearly non-distinguishable from their organic counterparts. Because of their realism government now mandating all systems fluids be pigmented in “non-natural” hues so as to not be mistaken for actual blood. The latest Fanukawa models use nanite skin and structures that can morph to endless configurations per the user’s desires. May also interface with AI. Most notably occupied by Raj.

Medical

  • AutoDoc: Advanced medical chamber capable of assessing injury and providing full treatment, to include advanced surgeries. Patients’ recovery time ranges from 1-24 hours, with few cases extending longer.
  • Rapid Cell Recovery (RCR): outdated predecessor to current AutoDocs, certain injuries may be repaired with RCR therapy. Healing jellies are applied to the localized site of injury, and “cured” using RCR wands or pads to accelerate organic regeneration. While faster than natural recovery, RCR is much slower than new AutoDoc technology and has been abandoned by the 1st World and sees limited use only in primitive locations.

Personal Devices

  • Bionics: Biotech companies have developed mechanical replacements for all aspects of the human body (except the brain). Models range from organic counterfeits to blatantly machine.
  • Bionic Vision: Artificial eyes produced by several biotech companies. Extremely customizable in appearance and performance capabilities. All bionics promise the restoration of natural sight. Most feature zoom magnification and recording abilities. More advanced models are capable of night vision and thermal modes, as well as select bands of ultraviolet and infrared. May interface with SID and InfoLink for enhanced functionality.
  • InfoLink: If the SID is the computer, the InfoLink is the “screen” with slightly greater capabilities. Often used in conjunction with the SID, it projects virtual information into the operator’s vision. It also has audio capability, projecting virtual sound directly to the user’s brain.
  • Smart Individual Device (SID): An advanced, compact computer similar to a smartphone. Often depicted as a small screen worn on the forearm or wrist. Produced by an array of civilian manufacturers with a wide range of quality and capability.
  • Military Smart Individual Device (MSID): The military variant of the civilian SID. Includes additional features including extended communication and advanced encryption. May have the ability to manipulate or control military equipment.

Travel

  • Constant Acceleration (CA) Drive Ships: As the name suggests, these starships rely on constant acceleration (not to be confused with constant velocity) to simulate gravity for the passengers aboard. By orienting the layout of the ship in line with the direction of thrust (think rocket ships rather than airplanes), artificial gravity can be achieved for much greater convenience than real-world space-goers experience in zero-gravity. CA Drive ships are particularly useful for long duration travels. Their primary disadvantage is the constant, and increased consumption of fuel mass to continue acceleration. Many older variant starships are not equipped with this feature, most notably the Zhenbao in Book II.
  • Cryostasis: Early deep-space travelers were sedated using a deep-freezing method and revived at their destination, preserved exactly as they were when they went under. Cryostasis is being quickly phased out but is still used by those travelers who cannot afford the cost of relay travel.
  • Ganesha-Hina Station: Deep-space station located halfway between Tykhe and Kyrios Kosmos (1 light year in either direction). Once a bustling refueling station for starships, it has experienced a rapid decline in status since the Relays came online several years ago.
  • Relay: Based on the Einstein-Rosen theory, often referred to a wormhole, relays bridge the immense gap between two points in the universe. Light years of travel is reduced to minutes. Set in orbit at 400,000 kilometers (slightly further than the moon orbits Earth in real life) around the host planets, the bulk of the travel time is launching out to space and to the relay and out the other end for deceleration and entry to the destination. Discovered by the First Expeditionary Group and Stephanie Rosenthal, relays now link the planets of Earth, Mars, Tykhe, Gath, and Kyrios Kosmos. Relays are fueled by exoticmatter. This element is found in abundance on Tykhe.

Weapons

  • CZ 9mm Custom Target: Derek Roman’s personal sidearm. Manufactured by the Czech Republic of Earth.  This all-metal pistol has a competition lineage. Semi-automatic. Light recoil. Max effective range: 75 meters.
  • General Electric XM-200C minigun: Produced by Earth corporation. This 6 barreled minigun is capable of 6000 rounds per minute. Chambered in 6.8mm, it is particularly lethal against organic targets, but also vehicles with light to medium armor. Full-automatic. Vehicle or tripod mounted. Max effective range: 1200 meters.
  • Heckler and Koch (H&K) GkG-68: Original Earth predecessor to the most commonly duplicated version of modern military and sporting rifles. Most arms within the universe share interchangeability to this highly customizable rifle. First chambered in 6.8mm (shares similar characteristics to non-fictional SIG .277 Fury with three-piece polymer casing) but has various cartridge offerings. Full and semi-automatic. Moderate recoil. Max effective range: 1000 meters. Used by Titan mercenaries in Escher.
  • KAR-65: Produced by Kyrios Arms. Standard-issue rifle of Kyrios military and police units. Chambered in smaller 6.5mm (shares similar characteristics to non-fictional 6.5 Remington SPC) for improved user maneuverability. Full and semi-automatic. Light recoil. Max effective range: 600 meters.
  • KA 9mm Government: Standard issued pistol by most Kyrios Kosmos police agencies. Equipped with a 20-round magazine, it has proven reliable and effective. Semi-automatic. Light recoil. Max effective range: 60 meters. Used in full sized and compact version by Jillian Kahr.
